PAYMENTS AND BENEFITS REPRESENTATIVE I
LIFE INSURANCE INDUSTRY
THE OPPORTUNITY: Mutual Trust Life Insurance Company is looking for an experienced Customer Service Representative for our Policy Owner Services group. This position will be a temp-to-hire position. Our Payments and Benefits Representatives make a solid contribution to the Company's sales, persistency, and profitability goals when proving outstanding customer service to our policyholders and agents by responding to coverage inquiries and changes, in a helpful, timely, and accurate manner.
DAY TO DAY ACTIVITES:
Communicates with customers and agents via telephone, correspondence, and electronic communication on standard and non-complex requests and changes.
Complete requests for policy projections for future activity on a policy.
Processes billing mode changes on policies, which include adding removing, and changing automatic draft mode for premium and loan payments.
Processes cash transactions received via lock box and direct daily cash receipts.
Process non-sufficient funds (NSF) check transactions, returned electronic payments received on Returned ACH report and billing error report.
Process any and all billing transactions that need to be completed.
Complete any service requests (beneficiary, ownership) changes when requested.
Process and complete any in force policy requests that are received and process within the processing standard time.
Answer questions in regards to 1099 inquiries.
Provide World Class Customer Service.
Prioritize work to address immediate concerns while balancing workflow and telephone inquiries.
Understand Mutual Trust's product and services.
Change focus as demands change, make immediate changes to day to day functions for coverage purpose.
Basic math skills.
Basic accounting experience.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED: Accountability, teamwork, and customer focus are required competencies. Additionally, the person who will succeed in this role will demonstrate flexibility, organizational skills, attentional to detail, strong commitment to quality, and strong problem solving skills all while providing world class customer service.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Two years consecutive work experience in customer service or a general office position.
At least one year experience with inbound or outbound calls.
Professional communication skills as demonstrated by the ability to compose business letters and verbally communicate information in a clear and effective manner.
Demonstrated basic math skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Life Insurance experience a plus.
Spanish speaker a plus.
