The Risk Management team creates competitive advantage for OnDeck through excellence in risk/reward optimization while simultaneously exercising its function of control in a vigorous and diligent fashion. The Risk Management team develops strategies and models to extend credit in a profitable manner to small businesses and their owners based on a strong understanding of the behavioral and commercial drivers of its customers and on sophisticated analysis of data. As the control function of OnDeck, the Risk Management Team ensures that that the portfolio, policies, strategies, new product features or operational processes at OnDeck are consistent with the risk appetite set by the management team and the board.

Provide OnDeck Merchants with payment options to fit their unique situations and businesses allowing them to maintain personal and professional dignity as they fulfill their financial obligation to OnDeck.

As a Payment Support Specialist, you will have the privilege to ensure positive interactions with our small business customers when they have entered a hardship situation.

As a Payment Support Specialist at OnDeck on the Payment Support Team, you will:

  • Take incoming phone calls and assist customers to match Ondeck's world class customer service.

  • Make outbound phone calls to ensure a successful paying relationship between Ondeck and our small business customer.

  • Compose and send emails to customers in a variety of situations

  • Follow all collection laws and legal practices

Necessary qualifications for success:

  • Strong Critical thinking skills

  • Prior collection experience

  • Strong communication skills

  • Responsible and accountable

  • Passion for small business

  • Ability to negotiate

Nice-to-haves (not required):

  • Bi-lingual

  • Industry experience
