The Impact You'll Make in this Role

The person hired for the position of Payment and Quality Innovation Manager will join a strong team focused on driving the adoption of public and proprietary payment and quality methodologies and content and develop market segment strategies for adoption and use of 3M proprietary, third party and public payment and quality systems. The person will manage payment and quality content and methodology market segment growth and adoption strategy and serve as the primary external champion and support to marketing, business development, engagement leads.

As a Payment and Quality Innovation Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading and influencing the market segment strategies for quality and payment innovations with commercial and public payers. Promoting classification systems for advancing outcomes and efficiency and accelerating trends from FFS to value-based arrangements

  • Working directly with a broad array of stakeholders on initiatives impacting how provider and patient data and payment is classified, paid and evaluated for quality and efficiency leveraging 3M HIS proprietary, third party and public methodologies and content.

  • Promote regulatory, legislative, and payment policy changes

  • Collaborate with external experts and marketing to fully understand the healthcare patient classification and risk stratification market requirements and operationalization of these solutions

  • Represent 3M HIS in the design and implementation of our payment, quality and episodic classification systems with payers, regulators, and providers

  • Be the subject matter expert on the market and classification/health policy design and implementation usage in Medicare, Medicaid, value-based care, risk bearing providers, and Commercial payers

  • Provide detailed financial analysis supporting the implementation of health care payment and quality reforms

  • Provide input into the prioritization process for proprietary and public product development and enhancement, as well as identify service opportunities

  • Direct collaboration with BUs engaging and aligning around growing core methodology revenue and penetration

  • Proactive, deliberate, and "real-time" management of adoption of payment and quality solutions

  • Provide subject matter expertise via consultation and stakeholder education to support DRE adoption, including 3M HIS methodologies, prospective payment, performance reporting, paying-for-outcomes

  • Use consultation and education opportunities to secure VOC intelligence that will support the market adoption effort

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution OR High School Diploma/GED or higher(completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and a minimum of sixteen (16) years of experience in (Healthcare Business) in lieu of the Bachelor's degree education requirement

  • Ten (10) years of working with payers, vendors, government, research/policy firm in payment and delivery system reform initiatives

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master's degree or higher in field related to business, health economics and health policy

  • Knowledge healthcare payment policy and system design, claims data elements

  • Experience of working with and/or within health systems, health plans, State Medicaid programs, Medicare program, Medicare Advantage, Commercial payers, value-based care arrangements, and/or Medicaid MCOs

  • Previous experience with strategic marketing, product management, product line P/L, designing and evaluating healthcare payment reform policy with a focus upon outcomes and efficiency.

  • Health care software management/marketing experience

  • Background in health insurance, health insurance operations, medical management/ quality improvement, provider contracting and reimbursement

Travel: Occasional travel may be required

Ensure compliance with the schedule, safety, cost, and quality decisions in conjunction with the Site Manager. Key Responsibilities * Monitors all on-site subcontractor activities for compliance with the CPM schedule and monitors and enforces compliance with subcontract requirements. * Coordinate the daily, weekly planning process. Oversight/ monitoring of construction actitvies. Monitors and reports on construction productivity and schedule performance (including trends) to the Site Manager and Field Project Controls Manager. * Takes actions necessary to meet project schedule requirements. * Coordinates the Construction Completion Walkdowns and the complete hand over of start-up packages to the Startup Manager and supervises the close out of all punch list items . Assists Site Manager with client interface and relations . Coordinates with Field Material Manager to review all site procured materials for acceptance . Attend the weekly meeting with the subcontractors. Review the weekly schedule and commodity installation status to the Field Project Controls Manager . Support all extra work authorization requests, backcharges, and supplier and subcontractor progress/final payment requests for acceptance.
