SAIC is searching for a Payload Antenna & Electronics Engineer to support the Government customer in the oversight of the design, integration, and test of spacecraft payloads. This position requires an active Top Secret Clearance with SCI and a Polygraph and is supported in Chantilly, VA.

In this role you will provide expert advice and coordination concerning antenna and associated electronics development.

Specific duties include:

  • Assess feasibility of new antennas and antenna functionality enhancements.

  • Review and coordinate on changes to specifications, interface control documents, and system level requirements documentation pertaining to the functionality and accommodation of antennas onto the satellite bus.

  • Identify and assess emerging risks; develop and evaluate proposed burn-down plans. Provide support to factory integration and test activities as required.

  • Review antenna manufacturing specifications for accuracy and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.

  • Review drawings, documents, and procedures for antenna, design, manufacturing, integration, program planning and execution -- provide comments to the Government customer.

  • Work with antenna models for performance evaluations and predictions.

  • Attend antenna and payload level design reviews and program management reviews to assess antenna design maturity, requirements compliance and to provide informed technical recommendations to the Government customer.

  • Provide technical evaluation of payload efforts in contractor Engineering Change Proposals.

  • With Government customer coordination and approval, may be called upon to represents Government's position during factory meetings.

Qualifications

Required Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI Clearance with a Polygraph

Required Education:

  • Bachelors and 9 years or more experience; or a Masters and 7 years or more experience; or a PhD or JD and 4 years or more experience

Required Experience:

  • Experience with spacecraft antenna design, manufacture, and test.

  • Basic understanding of Defense and Intelligence Community (DoD/IC) satellite systems, and architectures.

  • Demonstrated ability to be effective in a Government/Contractor team environment.

  • Able to travel domestically up to 25%.
