Payer Relations Manager, Payer Relations Department

We are looking for a team member who thrives on relationship building, negotiations and strategy to develop world class relationships with dental insurance payer companies. As a Payer Relations Manager, your role focuses on negotiating payer contracts and fee agreements for supported doctors and dental offices. Excellent communications is necessary to build and maintain relationships for effective collaboration.

To give you an idea of the team structure, you will work within the Payer Relations Department, reporting to the VP or Sr. Director of Payer Relations.
Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:
Develop and manage relationships with dental insurance payer representatives.
Negotiate payer contracts and fee agreements to maximize value for supported doctors.
Collaborate with the Legal Department and Dental Insurance Administration Department to understand the contract terms and obligations of enrolled doctors.
Initiate updates and programs within payer contracts to streamline efficiencies for administration.
Develop partnership opportunities with insurance payers.
Establish strategic goals for payer revenue improvement and implement accordingly.
Bachelor's degree and equivalent experience
7-10+ years of work experience, preferably with payer relations/negotiation experience
Deep knowledge of insurance networks, fee agreements and contracts.
Skilled communicator with the ability to build relationships, inform, and influence at all levels
Superior communication skills- verbal, written, listening
Strong negotiation skills & experiences
Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks
Strong organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Team player in a matrix environment
High level of maturity, personal initiative, and sound judgment
