Position Summary:

Reporting to the VP of Payer Relations, the Payer Relations Analyst is responsible for building and managing the large volume of payer related data generated by BioReference and its subsidiaries in compliance with all regulatory requirements, helping to provide business intelligence tools to aid in strategic business development opportunities and manage risks related to third party payers, all in accordance with the core values of BioReference Laboratories.

Position Responsibilities:

Duties may include but are not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Drive the overall strategy of the company with health plans and payers to achieve short-term and long-term goals. This includes customer targeting, understanding key customer needs and aligning the company value proposition appropriately.

  • Develop and manage third party payer data to drive enhanced business intelligence and improve reimbursement while maintaining regulatory compliance.

  • Build and maintain third party payer billing data warehouse to provide holistic reporting tools across all lines of business and subsidiaries.

  • Support the development of tools for efficient day to day management for client and/or segment nationally and/or across multiple regions.

  • Develops and manages processes to ensure expected service delivery for specific client and/or segment across the enterprise.

  • Develops key organizational links to people and functions and removes barriers to problem resolution.

  • Collaborate with management and staff to ensure alignment on priority service issues effecting the region(s).

  • Manage third party payer contract performance metrics and benchmarking tools.

  • Provide education and training to staff regarding decision support tools in accordance with strict reporting guidelines and discipline.

  • Work effectively with individuals across multiple departments throughout the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

REQUIRED:

  • B.S. in Business Administration, Information Technology, or Finance required (MBA or MS in IT a plus).

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL.

  • 3+ years of experience in the independent clinical laboratory industry.

  • Ability to engage in a consultative selling process that overcomes objections and indifferences while connecting client needs with the company's capabilities.

  • Comfortable interfacing at the executive level (CEO, COO, CLO, CFO, EVP, SVP).

  • Keen understanding of managed care and health plan operations including reimbursement in the clinical laboratory space.

  • Ability to work independently, communicate proactively, manage multiple projects and prioritize daily tasks while managing critical deadlines.

  • Outstanding project management and planning skills.

  • Superior listening and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a very high level of confidentiality.

  • Possess a very positive attitude and an understanding of the dynamics involved with organizational growth and change.

  • Must be very proficient with all Microsoft Office products with advanced MS Excel and MS Access skills required (SQL Server a plus).

We are currently looking for a Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that the payroll and finance department operate in a cohesive manner. Maintain accounts relating to payroll. Handle the reconciliation of withholding tax accounts to comply with calendar year directives when performing tasks. Major Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Strong understanding and Set up of all State and Local taxes in ADP payroll for employee tax profiles including work and "live in" locals, multistate * Multi-Jurisdictional tax profile adjustments for quarterly and year end reconciliations to produce accurate and timely form W2 and W2C * Verify and approve changes and corrections to employee tax withholding profiles to ensure proper tax coding on all employees * Review and confirm tax withholding setup for all new hires and company transfers are accurate in ADP * Strong knowledge of Wage and Hour and Payroll Withholding Tax Compliance * Address all amendment, tracers, and SUI rate changes, and administration in ADP SmartCompliance * · Ensure employment tax amounts are transferred to Revenue Agencies on time * · Create ADP Custom Reports to perform internal payroll pre and post reconciliation audits * · Prepare required documents for internal and external auditors, and SOX compliance * · Prepare required documents for various audits and government responses to related inquires * · Liaison with the Department of Labor and State Agencies providing data and reports upon request * · Partner with Finance and Human Resources to ensure timely set up of all withholding taxes for payroll in new states, and localities * · Validate payroll taxes, 401K, and café 125 deductions are processed accurately using ADP reporting tools * · Reconcile payroll quarterly, make necessary adjustments prior to quarter end payroll transmission and validate ADP reports for accuracy * · Quarterly State and Workers Compensation Reporting * · BLS Reporting for mandated states * · Manage 3rd party sick pay state plans and upload taxable and non-taxable amounts into ADP to ensure accurate reporting on W2s * · Quarter and Year End Tax and W2 Preparation * · Reconcile Canada payroll quarterly and make necessary adjustments to deficiencies to ensure accurate T4 statement reporting * · Quarter and Year End reporting and correspondence to US and Canadian agencies * · Work closely with finance to research and resolve questions and issues concerning the GL accounts * · Projects Qualifications: * · Strong PC skills including high level of proficiency in Excel --formula's, V look up, Pivot tables * · Working knowledge of ADP Vantage, ADP SmartCompliance, and ADP Reporting a Plus * · Strong Problem-solving and Analytical skills * · High degree of professionalism * · Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material * · Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills * · Strong work ethic and team player * · Ability to communicate with various levels including management * · Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills * · Ability to work in a high volume fast paced work environment * · 4+ years in experience in related field of payroll operations and tax accounting * · Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) a plus BioReference is an Equal Opportunity Employer Bio-Reference Laboratorie Elmwood Park NJ
