This position functions as the Statewide Pavement Structure Engineer and is part of the Bureau of Technical Services Materials Management Section. Responsible for providing advanced engineering expertise and judgment on pavement matters to all Division of Transportation System Development (DTSD) offices, this position provides assistance and guidance to engineers in the development and maintenance of standard pavement structure design procedures.
The incumbent exercises a large amount of independent action and the work at this level requires a large degree of creativity and engineering evaluation. The position is involved in a wide range of pavement engineering activities.
WisDOT does not sponsor work visas. Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant being able to prove valid status to work in the United States.

Level of position and salary will be determined based on the qualifications of the selected candidate at the time of hire. Civil Engineer Transportation Advanced is the objective level for this position.
To be considered for this position at the advanced level, a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license is required upon application. Hired candidates with PE from a state other than Wisconsin must obtain a PE from the State of Wisconsin within three months of employment in the position.

Minimally qualified candidates must have graduated from a college or university "ABET accredited" program with a 4-year degree (or Master's) in civil engineering or a related engineering field; OR possess Registration as a Professional Engineer; OR possess an Engineer-In-Training license.
