Provide safety, patrol services, and timely information to the public and to employees by using patrol services or law enforcement skills. Work with Contract Security provider to ensure the safety and security off all Associates and Visitors on campus.

Essential Job Functions: Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

  • Provide high level of customer service, safety, patrol services, and information to visitors and employees.

  • Prepare and provide weekly training to the on-site security staff.

  • Support and Directs all Contract / Special Event Security on site.

  • Supervises "Off Duty Police" when needed on campus for critical incidents

  • Assist HR during critical terminations with occasional investigations assistance

  • Acts as a liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

  • Conducts safety violation checks and audits for company vehicle assets.

  • Trains all new contract security staff on site to ensure they are signed off for patrol

  • Reviews CCTV cameras during on campus investigations and maintains equipment

  • Prepares Internal Supplemental Incident Reports based on following up Investigations during on campus incidents involving injuries or property damage.

  • Interviews visitors and associates to obtain statements during on campus incidents

  • Prepares incident reports and documentation for 3rd party insurance claims

  • Responds to emergency calls on/off campus locations related to Rose Hills

  • Supervises all on campus field calls and responds to calls for service as needed

  • Support other departments and large event planning.

  • Monitor daily visitor activity, and act timely on calls for action.

  • Perform routine foot and vehicle patrol for patrol services purposes.

  • Provide visitor assistance and information for funeral locations & services, and detailed grave locations.

  • Tracks and responds to department "Master Key" system request

  • Enforce Park Rules, Park Etiquette and Regulations at all times.

  • Maintain the patrol services of the Park and the Company's physical assets.

  • Complete clear and concise reports of activity occurring in the Park.

  • Observe and report any unusual conditions in the Park.

  • Emphasize warm and friendly customer service in all department interactions with visitors.

  • Use crowd control techniques quickly and effectively when called upon.

  • Maintain a good working relationship with vendors, service providers, employees and all Company departments.

  • Project a favorable image of the company to promote its' goals, and to enhance public recognition and acceptance of all its efforts.

  • Adhere to Company policies, procedures, rules, and controls.

  • Adhere to safety rules and regulations, and report unsafe practices to management.

  • Act on customer complaints to provide satisfactory resolution.

  • Understand and achieve annual SMART goals.

  • Participate in training and skill development opportunities to improve competency and customer service.

  • Report to work on time and maintain standard attendance.

Experience and Education:

  • One year customer service experience

  • Two years supervising contract security staff

  • Two years Security Supervisor experience

  • Law enforcement or private patrol experience preferred

  • High School Diploma or GED

Special Skills:

  • Possess a POST 832 P.C. certificate, or equivalent

  • Excellent powers of observation and detail-mindedness

  • Excellent telephone etiquette Read and understand the Park lot (grave location) system and lawn layout

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Valid CA Driver's License

  • Ability to push and pull gates with 50 lbs. of pressure (pre-placement physical and lifting test required)

Working Environment:

Work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions; walk long distances throughout the Memorial Park on occasionally steep, wet, and uneven ground; drive continuously throughout the Park in all weather conditions; work with visitors when they are very emotional and in various stages of grief, which requires compassion and sensitivity; on special event days, work with high volume of visitor traffic in vehicles and on foot; high profile issues must be tactfully balanced; and flexible availability is required to work occasional overtime, outside of scheduled work hours, and rotating shifts.

Physical Requirements:

Work most of every day out of doors in all weather conditions; walk long distances throughout the Memorial Park on occasionally steep, wet, and uneven ground; drive continuously throughout the Park in all weather conditions; ability to push and pull gates with 50 lbs of pressure; have a high degree of awareness and alertness to unusual situations in order to take quick action; and emotional and mental ability to deal continually with high volume of grieving visitors who must be dealt with sensitively; ability to interact with all types of personalities within and outside the Company

Compensation:

$29.00/hr - $36.00/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
