Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist the wait staff in the delivery of food to guest table, complying with guest service standards, delivering food from kitchen to guests table, along with any pairings or accompaniment.

  • Complete food presentation as needed, such as adding garnishments, before the food is delivered

  • Set up assigned station in the kitchen

  • Maintain the orderly upkeep of coolers and storage areas.

  • Maintain all assigned food production service areas in an orderly manner in compliance with sanitation regulations

  • Ensure hot items are hot and cold items are cold

  • Check with guests for overall satisfaction

  • Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner

  • Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

  • The employee may be expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations to perform job duties not necessarily contained in this job description

  • Maintain a safe work environment for co-workers and a safe hotel for guests.

Qualifications, Job knowledge, Experience, Skills, Abilities:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Ability to communicate, verbally, effectively with guests and co-workers; respond to guest requests

  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.

  • Basic knowledge of service of various alcoholic beverages.

  • Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service-ware.

  • Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the hotel.

  • Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.

  • Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.

Legibly document orders when system is down and distribute food orders to kitchen * Anticipate guests needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, maintaining positive guest relations at all times * Be familiar with all hotel services/ features and local attractions/ activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately * Handle and resolve guest complaints * Ensure complete knowledge of table/ seat/ station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up and dress code of the restaurant * Ensure complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware and garnishes in the restaurant * Ensure knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of every wine/ champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list * Ensure complete knowledge of all menu items, prices, preparation method/ time, major ingredients and quality standards of taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, garnish and method of presentation * Ensure complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
