Description:
Under the supervision of the clinical nurse manager, clinical leader/charge and/or registered nurse serves as transporter of patients to and from appointments and East Campus.
Position Purpose:
Under the supervision of the clinical nurse manager, clinical leader/charge and/or registered nurse serves as transporter of patients to and from the units.
What you Will Do:
Provides safe patient transport to and from appointments and during admissions from East Campus.
Prioritizes requests for services and performs tasks in a timely manner.
Assures the workstation equipment is functioning appropriately, office supplies are adequate, and maintains an updated working knowledge of new equipment and technology. Keeps workstation/area organized, neat, and clean.
Obtains supplies via phone and on-line ordering.
Places calls and work orders to other departments as needed.
Answers telephone and provides information/messages to patients and medical staff in a professional and respectful manner.
. Maintains required department confidentiality and abides by HIPPA regulations.
Provides competent patient care to the above indicated patient populations by obtaining and appropriately interpreting data, making appropriate decisions based on demonstrated knowledge of age-specific growth and development, and appropriately adapting procedures and treatments.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High school graduate or GED or equivalent required
Active Chauffer's license required.
Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.
Must provide proof of Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training prior to employment or within 6 months of hire and maintain current status per State of Iowa guidelines.
