We are bringing innovation to a stagnant industry and are looking for a compassionate and customer service focused Patient Transportation Coordinator to join us on our mission to improve patient care.

As a Patient Transportation Coordinator, you are the face of Ambulnz and play a crucial role in interacting with prospective patients to inform them of the life-changing transportation service Ambulnz can provide for them.

As the Patient Transportation Coordinator you will:

  • Successfully educate patients of Ambulnz through in-person consultations

  • Become an expert in Ambulnz to quickly suit patient needs

  • Work closely with medical facilities to serve as an information hub for Ambulnz as needed

  • Set up company table with educational brochures and pamphlets

  • Actively formulate new strategies to reach out to new potential patients

  • Own and manage a pipeline of patient information

  • Achieve and consistently exceed monthly goals with conversion of patients, on-time compliance and patient satisfaction

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, an individual must be able to adequately perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required:

  • 1 year experience working in an EMT or Paramedic role preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be willing to travel to medical facilities daily

  • Experience working in the healthcare industry

Ensures appropriate level of care is provided to patients from admission to discharge. Identifies and addresses barriers to safe and timely patient flow. Gathers clinical information, obtains resource authorizations, and coordinates transportation, as necessary, for direct admission and inter-facility transfer patients. Responsibilities Include: 1. Facilitates clinical triage and placement of elective and emergent admission requests, regardless of admission source. Ensures clinical hand-off communication to accepting nurse takes place in a timely and high-quality manner. 2. Identifies conflicts or issues related to patient flow. Collaborates with clinical team, ancillary and support services to resolve issues and achieve maximum efficiency and clinical outcomes. 3. Rounds, as necessary, in the clinical areas to reconcile census and bed placement issues. 4. Addresses and resolves issues arising from increased census and decreased bed availability. 5. Facilitates daily patient flow meetings with stakeholders from the Emergency Department, Perioperative Services, Nursing, Case Management, and Ancillary Departments, as necessary. 6. Address any conflicts or issues arising from dissatisfaction with bed assignments. 7. Ensures patient information and data entry in patient's chart is accurate, including but not limited to insurance information, clinical documentation, transportation requests and patient demographics. 8. Evaluates, processes, tracks, documents and coordinates patient transfers for the successful referral and transfer of patients to the facility. May conduct recorded three-way calls between referring physician and facility physician. 9. Performs related duties, as required. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, required. * Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. * Minimum of five (5) years nursing experience, including bed assignment and admissions process, required. Previous critical care, Emergency Department experience, preferred. * Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), preferred. * Demonstrated leadership with conflict resolution and problem solving skills, required.
