Summary

The Transplant Clinic is seeking a full-time Patient Services Senior who will be responsible for the daily functional supervision of a highly functioning clerical team. Responsibilities*

As a Patient Services Assistant Senior your primary role is to provide leadership and function supervision to clerical staff. Provides self-management support, care management, and care coordination for patients with complex illnesses to optimize the patient?s health status. In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Coordination of daily functional supervision for the clerical team, clinic MA team, and RN Assist MA team.

  • Able to administratively support multiple providers and/or specialties.

  • Provides interpretation and instruction for policies, procedures, and practices.

  • Maintains work schedules, reviews timesheets for accuracy and assists with performance evaluations for other clerical team members.

  • Provides staff with a comprehensive orientation and extensive onboarding to work areas of all new hires.

  • Provides resources and time to facilitate the learning and ongoing development of staff.

  • Provides constructive and timely feedback to staff and management regarding staff work performance and overall development.

  • Participates with leadership team to ensure effective clinical operations.

  • Promotes and facilitates positive communication with the entire health care team.

  • Ensures cash-handling and revenue charge capture processes comply with guidelines while attaining timeliness and accuracy goals.

  • Coordinate with stakeholders within and across departments and units to optimize revenue cycle results.

  • Acts as fire and safety representative for clinic, including managing fire safety board and conducting necessary drills and assessments.

  • Lead daily team huddles.

  • Create MiChart reports for clinic data.

  • Ensure staff is continually Joint Commission-ready and that the clinic environment of care follows all regulatory standards.

  • Works closely with the ACU Managers and MA Senior to ensure coordinated and Standard processes and workflows.

  • Participates and leads the ongoing development and evaluation of operational procedures at the front desk and clinic.

  • Demonstrates proactive problem-solving skills and takes the initiative to identify and follow through on problems.

  • May assist at Front Desk during staffing shortage.

Required Qualifications*

  • Associate Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.

  • Some functional supervisory experience is necessary.

  • Previous clerical/medical records experience in an outpatient clinical setting is necessary.

  • General office practices, ability to understand medical documentation and general knowledge of medical terminology is required.

  • Demonstrated excellent verbal, written, and information technology skills.

  • Candidate must be an active team player and be able to work independently.

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills are required along with outstanding customer service skills.

  • Demonstrated record of excellent attendance.

  • Exhibits professional and positive image when interacting with patients, faculty, and staff. Able to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment with accuracy.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills.

  • 5+ years of experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team or project.

  • Experience facilitating and coordinating a patient?s continuum of care, as well as, identifying and recommending appropriate resources available.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team setting.

  • Communicates effectively.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience working within a large, complex health care setting.

  • Familiarity with UMHS electronic medical record systems.

  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures.

7:30A - 3:30P Monday

  • Friday (Hours may vary)

Background Screening
