Overview

Position Summary: The Patient Services Rep II plays a vital role in ensuring a positive experience for patient-families at CHLA by performing various clerical tasks. Responsibilities primarily include answering incoming calls, managing patient registration, and facilitating check-in/out procedures. Additionally, this role involves collecting patient co-pays or deductibles, scheduling and confirming patient appointments, and completing financial clearance and authorization duties. The incumbent serves as administrative support for assigned providers, working closely with them to ensure follow-up care is completed. Furthermore, the Patient Services Rep II assists in the creation and review of divisional performance reports and metrics, ensuring the efficient functioning of operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform clerical tasks associated with patient registration, check-in/out procedures, and answering incoming calls.

  • Collect patient co-pays or deductibles and ensure accurate scheduling and verification of patient appointments.

  • Complete financial clearance and authorization duties, serving as administrative support for assigned providers.

  • Collaborate with assigned providers to ensure the completion of follow-up care for patients.

  • Assist in the creation and review of divisional performance reports and metrics.

  • Submit and follow up on authorizations for Radiology procedures, ensuring authorization before patient appointments.

  • Utilize electronic worklists to manage workload effectively.

  • Coordinate financial clearance for patients with scheduling teams, Radiologists, NPs, and clinics.

  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and work effectively in a team environment, providing support to colleagues as needed.

Minimum Qualifications: 1-year experience in medical front office setting required, 3+ years in medical office setting preferred.

  • Proficiency in computer applications and electronic medical record systems.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

  • Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and provide assistance to colleagues when necessary.

  • Exceptional organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy.

  • Proficiency in multitasking and the capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with team members and complete tasks quickly without sacrificing quality.

  • Capacity to perform well under pressure and remain composed in challenging situations.

  • Proven track record of working efficiently and effectively in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Education/Licensure/Certifications: High school diploma or GED required.

Pay Scale Information

$38,272.00-$65,062.00

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
