Virginia Oncology Associates, the largest group of medical professionals in Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina devoted exclusively to cancer care and blood disorders, has an exciting opportunity for a Patient Services Coordinator in our Princess Anne office in Virginia Beach.

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients and visitors to the clinic in a prompt, courteous and professional manner. Checks in patients and informs clinical staff of patient arrival.

  • Provides and explains paperwork for the patient to complete prior to examination. Collects, proofs for completeness, and files patient forms. Updates demographics and insurance information in the system. Collects co-pays and balances; provides receipt.

  • Answers, screens, and responds to routine questions, routes to appropriate personnel, or take thorough messages. Pages clinic personnel as appropriate. Communicates messages in an accurate and timely manner according to procedures.

  • Checks patients out after examination. Schedules returning appointments in accordance with physician and/or office guidelines. Provides patients with appointment details such as time, location, directions, instruction sheets, and other details.

  • Records patient cancellations and missed appointments; reschedules appointments. Notifies appropriate staff of the cancellation and makes note in patient chart

  • Provides general administrative support by filing charts and forms. Maintains lobby area in a neat and orderly manner. Maintains a legible supply of forms and appropriate office supplies required for daily activities.

  • Adheres to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPPA laws and guidelines with regards to patient's records.

  • Other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Receptionist or office experience required

  • Medical office experience strongly preferred

  • Proficiency with computer systems and MicroSoft (Outlook, Office Word, and Excel) required

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Must be willing to travel to other office locations

The position is based in our Virginia Natural Gas office located in Virginia Beach,VA. Representative Duties and Responsibilities: * Serves as a member of a crew engaged in installing and repairing gas mains and service lines. Participates in making taps on mains and services * Provides assistance with all distribution activities involved with the installation, repair and maintenance of the distribution system * Completes jobs by digging, shoring, repairing leaks, testing, and wrapping pipe Performs work with hand tools, air tools, shovels, etc. during distribution activities while adhering to all safety and work rules Assists other crew members in all activities as required Ensures that truck is stocked with equipment and supplies and maintains distribution vehicles, tools and other equipment in neat and orderly condition * Must live in the service area and be subject to call out for emergency service. Stand By duty and emergency call out Job Requirements Education and Experience: Required: * High school diploma or GED equivalent * Job is entry level and requires no previous experience * Must pass the DOT drug test Certifications/Licenses: Required: * Operator Qualified in accordance with Company Plan * Must have a valid VA state drivers license Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: * Must live within 30 minutes' drive from the Virginia Beach office for for on-call / emergency response purposes * Must be physically able to stoop, bend, crawl, walk, climb ladders and lift weights in excess of 75 pounds * Must also have a keen sense of smell, hearing, vision and color identification * Must have the ability to work in all types of terrain and weather conditions, as required.
