Providence is calling a Patient Services Coordinator (CV Administration, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:

  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills in all interactions with physicians, physicians' office staff, patients, department, and hospital personnel.

  • Coordinate daily case progress by monitoring the schedule and actual case progress, serving as the incoming and outgoing central communication coordinator for the Cath Lab, staff, medical staff, and anesthesiologists.

  • Work closely with the Clinical Supervisor / Charge Nurse or RN Team Leader and surgeon offices to resolve scheduling conflicts, or scheduling barriers, in order to schedule procedures as requested or provide acceptable alternatives.

  • Communicate with a variety of persons, internal and external to the organization in person, telephonically, and electronically.

  • Optimize time and resources to complete assignments and help others complete theirs, improving individual and department productivity.

  • Maintain working knowledge of department and role specific procedures through attendance in department and team meetings, online and class education sessions.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 4 years of related experience in medical setting

  • Basic knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with spreadsheet, word document, presentation, and scheduling software

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Medical terminology

  • Acute care hospital experience

  • Knowledge of frequent cardiac procedures and surgeon/staff preferences regarding those procedures

VIEW JOBS 9/18/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-12-17T00:00 Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (RN) Patient Services Coordinator (Forest View, Variable Shift, 0.90 FTE) to Providence Forest View in Anchorage, Alaska. Forest View is a post-op, short stay, rapid recovery center. Most patients stay 1-3 nights. RNs do floor nursing, intake calls, medication administration and wound care. RNs need to have acute care experience, and IV skills, and orthopedics experience is preferred. All employees must be willing/able to work various shifts to meet departmental needs. In this position you will: * Perform care coordination tasks for patients as needed (coordinating with MD's, families, home health etc.) * Assist and discuss with patients any areas of concern and assists patients with medications and treatments as stated in the service plan. * Work with a team approach to complete daily operational needs and provide leadership to ensure work processes are within standards. * Promote and routinely offer comfort and pain management measures. * Coordinate staffing to meet patient needs on a day-to-day basis. Required qualifications for this position include: * Graduate of an accredited approved School of Nursing * Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Alaska * Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire * Strong assessment skills Preferred qualifications for this position include: * Prior experience in orthopedics * Prior experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) * Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification * Acute Post-operative care. About Forest View Forest View is a Post-Operative/Rapid Recovery/Short Stay facility and is licensed by the State of Alaska as an Assisted Living Facility, located in Building S of the Providence Health Park on Piper Street. Forest View provides a rapid recovery environment for patients requiring a variety of nursing and physical therapy services for a short period of time following their surgery at one of the local surgery centers in Anchorage.
