Overview

Select Physical Therapy is seeking a Full time Patient Service Specialist (PSS) for our outpatient physical therapy clinic in Alexandria, VA. Previous medical office experience is highly preferred. This is a Full time position that includes up to 40 hours per week.

We offer full medical and vacation benefits for full time hours (32+).

The Patient Service Specialist will consistently demonstrate excellence in customer service and the talent to perform all front office administrative duties to best meet the needs of our patients. The Patient Service Specialist position conducts their work in a positive helpful manner, possesses excellent computer, telephone and customer service skills and is detail oriented.

Job duties include:

  • Greeting patients

  • Patient registration & scheduling

  • Insurance verification

  • Co-pay collections

  • Obtaining referrals and authorizations

  • Responding to requests for information

  • Assisting therapists as needed for general clinic maintenance and upkeep

  • Answering telephones and additional administrative functions

Qualifications:

  • Ability to type 40 words per minute preferred

  • Strong customer service skills

Develop and manage the database(s) for document control. The documentation for control includes, but is not limited to, personnel, financial, travel, training, and postal data. Respond to inquiries from all echelons and work effectively with individuals and groups of persons to advise senior level management. Perform activities, to include but not limited to, typing, filing, routine procedural processing, maintaining records, coordinating and staffing documents, and other non-specialized tasks. Create and manage all administrative and operational signature reduction activities. Basic Qualifications: 7 -10 years experience in DoD Human Resources policies and procedures Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) Adobe PDF, and PureEdge applications Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, developing and maintenance of SharePoint sites and pages. Must have a strong working knowledge of managing official military correspondence per Army Regulation 25-50 Must have a final Top Secret clearance, investigated within the last five years.
