PATIENT SERVICE SPECIALIST (FRONT DESK)
Position Description
Job Title: Patient Services Specialist (Front Desk) Supervised by: Billing Cycle Manager
Prepared by: Human Resources Approved by: CEO
Job Summary: Responsible for general patient support, scheduling of patients, accepting patient payments, preparing daily deposits reports, and data entry.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Answer and route incoming calls as appropriate. Take messages when necessary.
Greet incoming patients scheduled for appointments and walk-in and verify on each visit that the patient registration information is current. Update any change(s) and input information into the EHS.
Notify the nurse of any emergency walk-in patient to facilitate patient being triaged timely.
Schedule appointments in EHS patient management system (walk-ins, scheduled appointment, call-ins, etc.) according to protocol.
Scan patient ID into patient management system.
Screen patients for income eligibility and apply for health insurance when applicable.
Maintain daily sign in log.
Perform other job duties as assigned.
