Job Summary:
The Patient Service Representative is primarily responsible for ensuring high quality customer service and continuation of care. The PSR performs typical front office functions and manages patient referrals. PSR will be responsible for scheduling, checking in/out patients, obtaining co-pays, past due balances, insurance verifications and prior authorizations, general front office support for the Hardesty Center, etc.
Environmental Hazards:
Possible exposure to hazardous material, hot and cold, blood borne pathogens.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry 8-10 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Education & Experience
Position Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
At least six (6) months of related job experience in a medical office or equivalent
Valid Driver's License
Skills, Proficiencies, and Knowledge:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to multi-task while providing great patient care.
Good computer skills, and the ability to learn new computer systems as needed.
Preferred:
Experience securing Insurance pre-certification
Experience working with computers and software, performing data entry, answering the telephone, and scheduling appointments
Ability to take telephone messages and have an understanding of medical terminology
Experience with electronic medical records; Epic highly desirable
Experience in a diagnostic imaging environment highly desirable
