As a part of the Professional Resource Network (PRN), you will provide administrative and patient care support to various ambulatory practices. You will assist in coordinating patient flow throughout the clinic, from registration to discharge, process prior authorizations and complete Surgery Scheduling tasks. You will work as a member of the Ambulatory Care clinic team to provide smooth outpatient flow resulting in optimum patient satisfaction and clinic operation. You will support different teams/ practices to cover illnesses, holidays, and leaves of absence. This role requires a Team Assistant with a highly flexible, enthusiastic and proactive approach as you will travel to all UCLA Community practices throughout the greater Southern California area and your schedule will vary depending on assignments.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Ability to be highly flexible and travel to multiple work sites within UCLA Health community based practices and work a variable schedule

  • Knowledge of major medical insurance plans and types of coverage provided

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Skill in using a PC with associated programs including Word, Excel, and E-mail, demonstrated work experience with a database computer program

  • Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities

  • Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with Faculty, Staff, Administration, and patients from various social, cultural, and economic backgrounds

  • Ability to creatively integrate competing demands into a productive working environment

  • Skill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems in both formal and informal situations

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of specific specialty practice and workflows

  • Familiarity and knowledge of authorization process and managed care programs

  • Working knowledge of patient related policies and procedures as well as a thorough understanding of the University system and its services and programs

  • Knowledge of hospital computer system and the various software products to perform administrative work

Responsibilities In this position, you will be responsible for recruiting and hiring administrative and clinical staff for the FPG Ambulatory Float Team which provides support to All UCLA various Ambulatory Clinics and PSS billing in the FPG. As the Float Team Manager,, you will be expected to provide coverage of staff for up to 184 Ambulatory locations. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all staff are JCAHO compliant to ensure all staff are capable of providing coverage Health system wide. You will also supervise the float pool Clinical team and provide Management support to the Administrative Float team, as needed. Qualifications Required: * Minimum 2 years Managerial experience in a healthcare setting required. * Skill in analyzing information and procedures to define objectives, identify patterns and recognize alternatives and their implications. * Skill in operating a micro-computer including working knowledge of software programs, including MS Word and Excel spreadsheet. * Interpersonal skills to promote a cooperative and productive work environment, to establish and maintain cooperative, productive working relationships with faculty, residents, medical students and staff from various social, cultural and economic backgrounds. * Working knowledge of medical terminology. * Writing skills to prepare accurate and concise reports and memorandums that clearly convey information utilizing appropriate vocabulary and grammar. * Working knowledge of computerized appointment scheduling and registration systems; and the ability to effectively train staff in the use of the systems. * Working knowledge of University and Hospital policies and procedures to appropriately manage patient registration, cashiering, risk management and personnel. * Ability to triage staffing issues to achieve resolution. * Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive and confidential information using judgment and discretion.
