The Patient Service Care Representative is responsible for providing excellent patient service care via telephone, maintaining patient database, and scheduling appointments.

Class starts May 13, 2019 in north central San Antonio.

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Answers high volume of calls; transfers and directs calls; provides exceptional customer service via telephone

  • Responsible for all front office patient coordination; to be completed in a timely manner (e.g. appointment scheduling, transport coordination)

  • Communicates clearly and effectively (both oral and written) with patients, clients, Team Members, peers and Leadership.

  • Accurately inputs data into both Carenet and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) databases

  • Answers all inquiries from patients, customers and third party vendors; provides clinic directions / hours of operation

  • Contacts health plans and verifies patient insurance information

  • Demonstrates the ability to mulit-task; simultaneously thinks, talks and types

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required

  • Must have a minimum one (1) year Medical office scheduling or hospital (surgery) scheduling experience, preferably within the past 12 months

  • Must have a minimum one (1) year Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system experience, preferably within the past 12 months

  • Bilingual skills a plus

POSITION SUMMARY: As a Patient Representative, you are the first person a patient sees when they enter the clinic. You play a pivotal role in ensuring patients have a great experience from the moment they walk through the door to when they leave the office. JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: * Manages all front office functions including patient relations, check-in/check-out, scheduling, insurance verification, and answering phones. * Ensures patients are kept informed and maintains pleasant lobby setting. * Manages filing and compiling medical records and patient information. * Assists with explanation of benefits and collecting and recording co-pays (cash and/or charge) including completing a daily balance checklist. EXPERIENCE: * 1 year of experience in a medical office setting is highly preferred. * Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. * Experience using an EHR system is extremely helpful. CERTIFICATION: * Current BLS Certification is required within 30 days of start.
