Summary

  • Coordinate and participate in a variety of duties associated with management. scheduling.

  • Position also involves customer service, message daily clinic preparation process, patient identification, patient check in/out, charge posting, cash management and patient appointment distribution, ancillary scheduling and preparation and referrals.

Work Performed

  • Prepare for clinic visits by reviewing next day patients and Explain billing to patients

  • Answer telephone, take and deliver messages to physicians, nurses and Check-out ancillary service requisitions.

  • Schedule tests and procedures.

  • Complete and distribute according to PRMO credit and collection policies.

  • Determine the amount patients.

  • Make return appointments by scheduling patients into the encounter forms. completing next day preparation activities.

  • Enter pre-visit orders and prepare new patient charts.

  • Pick up X-rays, office charts, medical records, reports, petty cash and collections bag.

  • File history sheets, ancillary reports and all other required patient record documentation.

  • Return medical records.

  • Attach HIPPA/Medicare documents to the Check-in patient upon arrival in the practice.

  • Identify correct patient information in Maestro Care.

  • Verify patient demographic data.

  • Edit Maestro Care as needed.

  • Accurately identify the appropriate account for patient visit.

  • Present and educate patients on required forms and obtain signature as required by policy and procedure.

  • Completes all Maestro Care check-in files and manage all appropriate alerts.

  • Collect and post co-payments and balances on accounts due.

  • Imprint all patient specific chart documents and requisition/transmittal documents.

  • Copy, file and distribute insurance cards as indicated by procedure.

  • Coordinate all labs/procedures as requested.

  • Maintain private physician office charts.

  • Prepare encounter forms. Investigate and account for missing encounter forms.

  • Audit encounter forms for completeness and accuracy before batching.

  • Batches encounter forms or charge posting in Maestro Care. of cash to be collected based on insurance plan. correct appointment type, entering the primary care physician or referring physician and scheduling tests and procedures. others.

  • Report obtained medical information from patients and referring physicians accurately, completely and timely.

  • Disseminate messages according to practice communication standards

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication. Basic PC and data entry skills.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and telephone etiquette.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work, provide oral and written instructions, interact tactfully with customers and establish and maintain effective relationships with others.

  • Must be able to apply specific departmental policies rules and regulations relating to verifying patient information, collecting payments and maintaining records and forms.

VIEW JOBS 9/2/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-12-01T00:00 Position Title: Strategic Services Associate (SSA) – NSQIP Surgical Clinical Reviewer (SCR) Position: Full time, monthly – exempt position Department: Performance Services Position Summary: Contributes to the achievement of the hospital's mission through the development and leadership of performance improvement activities in the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP). The NSQIP Surgical Clinical Reviewer's (SCR) chief responsibility is to abstract, analyze and submit reliable data for the ACS NSQIP program. This is accomplished through high quality data compilation, documentation and entry into the ACS NSQIP database of all eligible surgeries for the hospital. The SCR is responsible for continual compliance with NSQIP policies and standards through monitoring activities and the use of NSQIP data. Work Performed: * Collect and submit reliable data to ACS NSQIP as prescribed by the program * Responsible for accurate and timely data transmission to meet caseload accrual as defined by ACS NSQIP * Utilize software applications for data collection and analysis * Attend bi-weekly meeting with NSQIP Surgeon Champion to review occurrences * The SCR works closely with the members of the Department of Surgery to identify opportunities for clinical quality improvement and other special projects as may be identified. * Attend division meetings to ensure reliable data collection of postoperative occurrences * Identifies streamlining and process improvement opportunities in the data collection process * Establishes effective working relationships with members of the hospital community, especially staff in the Surgery, Medicine, Nursing, Medical Records and the Information Systems Departments whose support is necessary for the management and success of the Program * Contacts patients and/or families via telephone and/or written communications postoperatively for the purpose of identifying possible occurrences associated with surgical procedures performed at the hospital * Analyze and distribute NSQIP reports * Assist performance improvement efforts * Serve as an educational resource to the ACS NSQIP Pediatrics for internal and external audiences * Attends ACS NSQIP National Conference Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Maintain certification as a Surgical Clinical Reviewer as defined by ACS NSQIP Program * Effective written and verbal communication skills * Ability to communicate with customers/staff with diverse educational backgrounds * Analysis of data and processes for opportunities for improvement * Ability to manage numerous diverse projects simultaneously through effective priority setting, efficient use of time, organization * Basic statistical knowledge * Attention to detail and accuracy * Self-direction; acceptance of responsibility for work * Computer literacy (Excel, PowerPoint, Databases) Education: Bachelors Degree, BSN preferred.
