  • Coordinate and participate in a variety of duties associated with management.

  • Position also involves customer service, message daily clinic preparation process, patient identification, patient check in/out, charge posting, cash management and patient appointment distribution, ancillary scheduling and preparation and referrals.

Work Performed

  • Prepare for clinic visits by reviewing next day patients and explain billing to patients

  • Answer telephone, take and deliver messages to physicians, nurses and Check-out ancillary service requisitions.

  • Schedule tests and procedures.

  • Complete and distribute according to PRMO credit and collection policies.

  • Determine the amount patients.

  • Make return appointments by scheduling patients into the encounter forms. completing next day preparation activities.

  • Enter pre-visit orders and prepare new patient charts.

  • Pick up X-rays, office charts, medical records, reports, petty cash and collections bag.

  • File history sheets, ancillary reports and all other required patient record documentation.

  • Return medical records.

  • Attach HIPPA/Medicare documents

  • Check-in patient upon arrival in the practice.

  • Identify correct patient information in Maestro Care.

  • Verify patient demographic data.

  • Edit Maestro Care as needed.

  • Accurately identify the appropriate account for patient visit.

  • Present and educate patients on required forms and obtain signature as required by policy and procedure.

  • Completes all Maestro Care check-in files and manage all appropriate alerts.

  • Collect and post co-payments and balances on accounts due.

  • Imprint all patient specific chart documents and requisition/transmittal documents.

  • Copy, file and distribute insurance cards as indicated by procedure.

  • Coordinate all labs/procedures as requested.

  • Maintain private physician office charts.

  • Prepare encounter forms. Investigate and account for missing encounter forms.

  • Audit encounter forms for completeness and accuracy before batching.

  • Batches encounter forms or charge posting in Maestro Care. of cash to be collected based on insurance plan. correct appointment type, entering the primary care physician or referring physician and scheduling tests and procedures. others.

  • Report obtained medical information from patients and referring physicians accurately, completely and timely.

  • Disseminate messages according to practice communication standards

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication.

  • Basic PC and data entry skills.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and telephone etiquette.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work, provide oral and written instructions, interact tactfully with customers and establish and maintain effective relationships with others.

  • Must be able to apply specific departmental policies rules and regulations relating to verifying patient information, collecting payments and maintaining records and forms.

VIEW JOBS 1/12/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-12T00:00 This is a casual nights position Maintains an environment of safety for patients, self and others and supports patient safety initiatives as demonstrated by following positive patient identification procedures, performing hand hygiene per policy, using PPE appropriately, demonstrating correct body mechanics and utilizing safe lifting equipment and slide sheets. Follows falls risk monitoring protocol every two hours for patients at risk for falling. When providing 1:1 or 1:2 care for patients who meet criteria for sitter services the PSA will adhere to the Suicide policy, to include document requirements and the Sitter Expectations and Responsibilities. Answers signal lights, bells, or intercom system to determine patients' needs as demonstrated by responding promptly to all alarms including bathroom, bed/chair exit alarms, and emergency alarms. Rounds hourly to anticipate requests and meet customer needs before being asked. Accurately relays information regarding patient needs to RN or US in a timely manner. Performs activities of daily living for or with patients as demonstrated by assuring patient personal hygiene needs are met including mouth care and foley care. Provides for patient safety, comfort and privacy when performing responsibilities. Facilitates patient activity and ambulation as appropriate. Takes the initiative to turn non ambulatory patients every 2 hours. Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed. Takes actual weights on admission and per protocol. BGM are taken with timeliness and at correct intervals. Abnormal dynamap readings are verified with manual equipment. Patient data is entered into RCare in a timely manner as care is provided. Promotes skin integrity as demonstrated by changing bed linens keeping linen clean, dry, wrinkle free and limited to one layer of linen. Utilizes slide sheets and keeps HOB less than 30 degrees, if appropriate, to reduce friction and shear. Uses skin care products appropriately. Keeps patient rooms neat and orderly. Removes food trays after meals. Wipes up spills. Empties bedside commodes, hats, and urinals. Removes soiled linens from rooms and does not store excess linen in rooms. At end of shift, empties all foley catheters/drains, records all intake and output, passes ice, empties trash in assigned rooms, empties linen hampers and ensures that rooms are tidy. Provides transport for patients to designated areas within the facility and promptly assists transport team with transfers. Completes errands with attention to priorities and promptly returns to unit. Reports appropriately to the nurse and other nursing assistants. Signs on the board at the nurse's station when leaving the unit for breaks and plans for coverage. Communicates pertinent patient information to appropriate person(s). Accurately relays information regarding patient needs and or any patient changes to the RN in a timely manner. Follows up with nurse throughout the shift regarding the status of all delegated tasks. Documents appropriately in RCare and on suicide documantaton forms. All documentation is complete and accurate. Reports off to the RN and the oncoming NA prior to the end of shift.
