Serving our community since October 15, 1979,TriStar Southern Hills continues to grow and evolve. Since that time, thehospital has grown to 126 beds and now serves three counties, including
Davidson, Williamson and Rutherford.
Over the years, the physician base has alsochanged. Starting with a small group of doctors, TriStar Southern Hills medicalstaff currently has over 300 members representing more than 20 specialties. Allare board certified or board eligible.
The hospital's emergency department continues to beone of the busiest in the city. Within three months of inception, TriStarSouthern Hills' emergency department saw over 3,000 patients. We now averagemore than 40,000 ER visits each year. TriStar Southern Hills pioneered bedsideregistration and was the first hospital in Middle Tennessee to offercommunity-based angioplasty.

Working under the supervision of a licensed nurse, The Patient Safety Attendant performs patient care activities necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. The position's task and responsibilities include:
Demonstrate competencies to serve as PSA's for monitoring and observation of suicidal patients and others with behavioral health needs. Also patients that may be confused and or at risk for falls.
PSA provides sensitivity and respect to the patient, family or significant other.
PSA will provide direct one to one observation and monitor the patient in accordance with hospital policy and departmental guidelines to ensure safety and well-being. Which may include video monitoring.
PSA's will provide appropriate interaction/communication with their assigned patients and redirect any inappropriate behavior.
Provides encouragement, support and comfort to patients and family members.
Ability to quickly make decisions to report patient condition with minimal supervision.
Monitors, records and communicates patient condition
Complies with infection control precaution standards.
Complies with safety and security policies of the hospital.
Excellent communication skills

High school diploma or equivalent
American Heart Association - BLS
Preferred hospital/EMS experience
Preferred behavioral health experience
Within three months of employment complete EKG course and rhythm interpretation test for cross training of Monitor Tech position
