Responsibilities

The Patient Resource Technician performs a variety of duties in support of patient care and hospital operations. When functioning as a patient sitter, the staff member provides 24 hour coverage making observations of any problems the patient may be experiencing while assuring patient safety in the designated hospital clinical units.

When functioning as a transportation aide, the staff member transports patients, equipment and other supplies within hospital, completes appropriate forms of tracking transportation assignments and assists department in restocking supplies and day setups. When Functioning as a hospital entry screener, the staff member is responsible for greeting and screening individuals who enter the facility, including patients, visitors and employees. The screening process will determine the individual's eligibility for entry into the facility and will be based on the Center for Disease Control (CDC) Guidelines and hospital policy.

Hospital Screener

Qualifications

Minimum

  • High school diploma or equivalentrequired.

  • Competent in technical proceduresincluding but not limited to obtainingrecording and reporting vital signs withaccuracy.

  • CT CPRBLS

  • Ability to read write and speak Englishwith clarity and comprehension.

Preferred

  • Experience in healthcare desired.
