No Work Schedule: Varied Days and Hours Qualifications High School/GED Less than 1 year experience in Patient Observation Attendant (formerly known as sitter) services or equivalent. BLS required Excellent interpersonal skills.

Preferred: 1 years experience in direct patient care. Certified Nursing Assistant, Nurse Tech, or other clinical support staff related to inpatient hospital setting preferred. Essential: High School Diploma or GED Responsibilities Provides safety and security support to the patient(s) while hospitalized, primarily by being aware, alert, present, and alerting nursing staff of concerns.Assists the client to the bathroom and around the unit ONLY if the client is able to ambulate and needs only minimal support and steadying.

If client is in bed, assists client with needs and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Engaging patient in activities according to plan of care. Talks with, reads to, and provides companionship.Provide competent physical/therapeutic care and ADLs consistent with job title/role.Appropriate documentation in medical record as outlined by Charge Nurse.Remains in constant attendance of the client. Arranges scheduled breaks with RN.Adheres to all Safety Companion policies.Maintains confidentiality of all information regarding patients.Performs other functions as required.
