Do you have EKG or patient monitoring experience? Do you know how to read EKG strips? As a Patient Monitoring Tech, you will assist in monitoring patient status under the supervision of a Registered Nurse for a group of patients for a designated time frame by recognizing and reporting patients' needs to create a safe and comfortable care environment. In this role, you are responsible for assessing EKG strips and arrhythmias to identify and respond to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes. In addition, you will monitor patient activity for patients at risk of falling or for other safety concerns. You may be qualified for this position if you are a CNA, EKG Tech, or ED Tech status with at least one (1) year of acute care experience.

This is a part time day shift position working 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.

You may qualify for this position with the following credentialing and experience:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Washington state CNA or EKG Tech or ED Tech with at least one (1) year acute care experience.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Avasure patient monitoring and EMR experience preferred.

  • Must successfully complete the EKG course within three (3) months of hire.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Competencies include, but are not limited to:

  • Successful completion of approved EKG coursework with demonstrated competency in the identification of lethal arrhythmias.

  • Critical thinking skills: Seeks resources for direction. Performs independent problem-solving. Decision-making is logical and deliberate.

  • Demonstrate accountability. Practices within legal and ethical guidelines.

  • Demonstrates competency to care for customers/patients across the age continuum.
