Coordinates the functions of the Logistics Center and coordinates bed flow through the management of the electronic bed tracking board.
Provides daily operational oversight and decision making of patient flow activities throughout Capital Health.
Assesses patient status/acuity to facilitate the efficient movement of patients through the hospital system by prioritizing inpatient admissions, critical care admissions, and internal/external transfers.
Serves as an expert clinical resource for patient placement by ensuring smooth functioning of the Logistics Center process to reduce wait times and avoid unnecessary movements of patients. Serves as contact person for bed management as it relates to admissions.
Ensures throughput on units and compliance with transfer process through management of people and process.
Identifies and anticipates barriers to discharge/patient flow activities and works to ensure throughput in ED, inpatient units and compliance with transfer process through management of people, metrics and process improvement.
Activates the Hospital Surge/Capacity plan based on the guidelines established and works to initiate/activate/manage/close identified overflow patient care areas.
Monitors inpatient bed status and upgrades bed cleaning status via bed tracking system to expedite patient flow to a clean bed.
ssociate's degree and graduate from accredited school of nursing. Four years experience in an acute care hospital setting to include minimum Telemetry experience. Critical Care experience preferred.
Need computer skills that include data input into multiple systems, working knowledge of windows based applications such as Microsoft Office skills, and ability to learn hospital based programs for access to lab results & bedtracking.
Valid NJ RN License.
