Position Summary
The RN Patient Flow Coordinator is responsible for supporting the management of capacity within the Asante health system. This includes the movement and placement of patients between hospitals as well as supporting and coordinating aspects of discharge progression to increase discharge velocity generating capacity for incoming patients. The Patient Flow Coordinator should have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
Education
Required Experience/Knowledge
2 years recent acute care nursing experience including 1 year formal or informal leadership experience.
Strong understanding of bedside nursing and the discharge process.
Understanding of hospital policies and procedures related to patient flow, triage process, and patient prioritization.
Knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines, including HIPAA and patient rights.
Licensure

Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve issues related to patient flow.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
