Counsels patients and/or parties responsible for payment regarding financial responsibilities and options. Explains financial responsibilities prior to service, as well as payment options and collection procedures to patients.

Provides patients with a comprehensive estimate of facility services as well as provider services in writing where applicable. Counsels patients regarding insurance benefits and recommends alternative sources of payment and /or financial assistance when appropriate. Screens patients for Medicaid eligibility and makes referrals to the Medicaid eligibility vendor appropriately.

Works closely with providers and the hospital to provide seamless communication to patients regarding their financial obligation for services. Minimum Education/Training: Associates degree in healthcare or business related field.

Minimum of two years working with a focus on customer service, billing and collections, or any other aspect of the revenue cycle. Should have good working knowledge of governmental payers, as well as third party payers. Preferred Education:

Bachelors Degree Preferred Experience: Two years or more performing customer service, billing and collections or revenue cycle responsibilities in a healthcare setting Physical

Lift 10 lbs. box overhead.

Lift and carry 15 lbs. Push/pull 20 lbs. cart. Occasional standing, walking.

Occasional twisting, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling. Continuous sitting. Continuous keyboard use.
