Patient & Family Representative

Nemours is seeking a Patient and Family Representative to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, DE. This is a 7:00AM to 3:30PM, Mon-Fri position.

Patient and Family Representatives create a family centered environment that ensures that as a family arrives at N/AIDHC to receive clinical care, a positive and inviting experience is provided. The Patient and Family Service Representative is often the first point of contact for community, patients and families and are integral in forming the first impression those stakeholders have of the organization.

This position covers the Front Desks in the Main Lobby and in the Outpatient Lobby, Monday through Friday, weekday business hours, 7:00AM to 3:30PM. This position's responsibilities include, but not limited to, welcoming families entering the main lobbies (Welcome Center and Outpatient Lobby) of the hospital building through staffing at the front desk, completing inpatient visitor badging process to ensure patient and associate safety, being familiar with the hospital layout and providing wayfinding, and demonstrating excellent customer service and service recovery skills.

This position will also have some responsibilities helping to cover the Patient Escort team, typically during the morning hours, 8:00AM to 11:00AM. The Patient Escorts support patients and their families, and the medical team, by transporting patients to and from their inpatient room, for appointment and procedures in the hospital.

The Patient Escort will also support patients and their families at the time of discharge, helping them with transport to the exit of the hospital.

The Patient Escorts will help escort family members around the hospital as requested and will make deliveries to patient rooms as requested and available. The Patient Escort team works along with the Patient and Family Services Welcome Desk team to provide a safe and welcoming experience. This includes cleaning and restocking wheelchairs and wagons.

Requirements;

HS Diploma or equivalent

Six months experience required
