Job Responsibilities:

  • Interacts with customers by phone to provide information; ensures the best customer service possible by researching and resolving issues.

  • Answers customers' questions regarding service issues.

  • Documents customer interactions and actions taken. Validates patient information and tasks/documents to ensure timely resolution of customer issue, claim, etc.

  • Converses with customers to obtain information, identify problem, and provides assistance.

  • Processes patient payments accurately and timely.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1 plus years of experience in Customer service, customer relations, call center environment, equivalent field.

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required.

  • May require ability to speak Spanish for some accounts.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology a plus.

  • Previous experience working with Practice Management software preferred.

Tracks no authorization denials, manage and update the list if insurances accepted by GBMC Health Partners and pulls new patient packets to prepare chart for appointments. The Patient Services Assistant#also receives and screens visitors and callers.# Schedules patient appointments, registers patients and participates in the processing of patient charges.# Provides secretarial and clerical support. Education High School or GED equivalency Experience 6 months of related experience Skills Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD9 codes Skill in written and oral communication Ability to perform non-complex arithmetic calculations Ability to organize and maintain files and records.# Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Licensures, Certifications # Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk and pay close attention to detail Working Conditions Normal office environment with little exposure to noise, dust, and the like.
