In addition to our multi-specialty ophthalmology practice, our service lines include plastic surgery, aesthetic skin care and hearing services.

What do we look for?

The Patient Counselor is responsible for

• Reviewing and explaining benefits and forms

• Reviewing chart notes and calculate balances for patient

• Calling patients to review deductibles and any outstanding balance or copays

• Scheduling follow-up appointments

• Collecting payments due prior to and/or surgery day

• This position requires proven organizational skills, top level problem solving, outstanding customer service and the ability to communicate effectively.

• Our ideal candidate is comfortable working with the public and has worked in an office environment where a high level of customer service was required.

• The position requires a person with outstanding interpersonal skills including a pleasant demeanor, positive attitude, tact, diplomacy, patience, and flexibility.

Qualifications

• Medical office experience required; Medical insurance knowledge highly preferred

• Insurance verification, counseling experience preferred

• Must have the ability to multitask and demonstrate an attention to detail

• Ability to read and communicate effectively with patients, peers, supervisors and team
