De La Pena Eye Clinic, a Covenant Physician Partners, is hiring a Fulltime Bilingual (English / Spanish) Patient Communication Rep in Commerce, CA.
Please note the pay range for this position is $18-20/hr.
About the Opportunity
Seeking a dynamic individual with excellent communication skills to join our team. Able to work in a large, multi-physician and location organization, experience with answering numerous phone calls daily, and in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Responsible for collecting and updating patient demographic and insurance information, assist in triaging patients, ensures proper physician scheduling.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Advises patients at the time of scheduling of our office processes to include the collection of past outstanding balances, co-pays, deductibles are due upon check-in, etc.
A thorough understanding of insurance websites, ICD-10, working with referral coordinators, understands all different insurance lines of services, HMO, PPO, Commercial, Medicare HMO, Medicaid HMO, etc.
Meets call quota, runs reports, call no shows, calls on abandoned calls, picks up messages, covers lunches, etc.
Obtains patient Pharmacy information.
Understands and abides by all HIPAA policies and procedures.
About the Candidate
High school education or equivalent is required. A college education is preferred.
Healthcare experience is preferred.
Prior experience with insurance verification/authorizations is preferred.
Experience with EHR/ EMR is strongly preferred.
About the Candidate
Fluency in both English / Spanish language is required. Written and Verbal.
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities.
Excellent typing and computer usage skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency.
Ability to relate with people of diverse backgrounds, provide excellent customer service and solutions to problems.
Knowledge of medical insurance terminology, medical benefits, and billing process.
Experience with online benefit verification, working with insurance companies, and have extensive knowledge of different types of coverage and policies.
Maintain accurate patient insurance records.
Good judgment and must have excellent multitasking skills.
Resourcefulness in problem-solving.
Ability to work independently, give attention to detail, prioritize, and perform several tasks together without losing concentration.
Effective in communicating clearly in writing and in speaking without being misunderstood.
Must be competent in the use of basic office equipment including computer, printer, telephone, and fax.
Must possess excellent clerical and organizational skills.
Ability to learn new programs and systems is required.
