Memorial Health University Medical Center is a 612-bed hospital in Savannah, Georgia. We opened our doors in 1955 and have evolved into the most advanced healthcare provider in the region.
We are a regional referral center for heart care, cancer care, trauma care, children's care, high-risk pregnancies, and high-risk newborn care. Our hospital includes the region's only Level 1 trauma center, the region's only children's hospital, and the Savannah campus of Mercer University School of Medicine. Memorial Health proudly serves 35 counties across southeast Georgia and southern South Carolina.
The Patient Care Partner (PCP) provides both direct and indirect patient care as delegated and supervised by the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. The PCP is responsible for health unit coordination by promoting collaboration and efficiency on the nursing unit and demonstrating mastery of time management, organization, customer service and problem resolution. Complies with the Memorial Health Compliance Program, related policies and procedures and the Code of Business Practices; reports instances of perceived and actual non-compliance to Team Leader or through other reporting mechanisms.
Education and Specific Training:
High School Graduate or GED Required.
Preceptor Development Course preferred.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) for Health Care providers issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) Required.
Current Patient Care Tech certificate, OR;
Proof of EMT course completion OR;
Proof of Medic course completion OR;
Proof of Nursing Aide course completion and 2-3 years' experience in an acute care environment (i.e. Hospital) within the last 5 years.
RN/LPN grads may qualify for PCP roles in lieu or PCT certificate so long as they operate solely within the scope of practice of a PCP.
Required: Strong computer skills, familiarity with Windows, MS Office, email, and clinical documentation programs. Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
Preferred: At least two years in an acute care setting (hospital) preferred.
