Patient Care Technician/Assistant - PCT/PCA
Work Schedule: Full Time Nights 7pm-7am, with rotating weekends
Working under the supervision of a RN, the Patient Care Technician/PCT serves as a member of the healthcare team by providing assistance with activities of daily living for adult and geriatric patients. These include, but are not limited to, personal care, ambulation and general care patient. Documents baseline measurements. Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for the patient. Treats all patients and families with dignity, respect, and appreciation of their lifestyle, language, religion and culture. Supports and promotes an environment that is conducive to quality customer service.
High School graduate or GED
Current Certification as a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant, or currently enrolled as a student in a Registered Nurse degree program and has completed the first semester of clinical rotations
One year experience in acute care setting strongly preferred
Current Certified Nurse Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant or Second year nursing student
Current BCLS issued by the American Heart Association
