The Nurse Extern is a contributing member of the multidisciplinary Health Care Team and must be able to communicate the needs of the Patient/Significant others to all disciplines involved in the patient#s hospitalization. Nurse Extern includes a student who is enrolled in an accredited nursing program that has completed, at minimum, a fundamental of nursing course.

Minimum Education/License/Certification Requirements Must be a student in an accredited nursing program. Final Academic year preferred. Failure to meet this requirement renders the person ineligible for an extern position. Experience in an acute care facility preferred.# Completion of Nursing Fundamentals in an accredited nursing program required.
