Building upon the responsibilities of a PCT I, this position requires additional experience and expertise in patient care techniques and procedures. Key Responsibilities:

Patient Assistance: Provide direct assistance to patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, toileting, and ambulation. Assist patients with mobility devices and positioning to ensure comfort and safety.

Vital Signs Monitoring: Perform routine vital signs assessments, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and oxygen saturation. Record and report vital sign measurements accurately, promptly notifying nursing staff of any abnormal findings.

Patient Observation: Monitor patient condition and behavior closely, noting any changes or concerns and reporting them to the nursing staff or healthcare provider. Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients, ensuring compliance with infection control and safety protocols.

Assistance with Procedures: Assist healthcare providers with procedures and treatments, such as wound care, specimen collection, and catheterization. Prepare equipment and supplies as needed, ensuring proper setup and disposal according to established protocols.

Patient Transport: Transport patients to and from various areas within the healthcare facility, including the emergency department, diagnostic imaging, and surgical suites. Use proper body mechanics and assistive devices to ensure safe patient transfers and minimize the risk of injury.

Documentation: Accurately document patient information, vital signs, interventions, and other relevant data in electronic medical records (EMR) systems according to established guidelines. Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in all documentation and communications. Communication and Collaboration:

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and compassionate care. Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and other allied health professionals to address patient needs and optimize treatment outcomes. Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and move freely throughout the healthcare facility for extended periods, including bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching as needed. Capacity to lift and carry up to 20 pounds safely, following proper body mechanics and using assistive devices as necessary. Visual and auditory acuity to observe patient conditions, read equipment displays, and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a certified nursing assistant (CNA) or patient care technician (PCT) program preferred. Minimum of 1 years of experience as a Patient Care Technician or equivalent role, with demonstrated proficiency in patient care techniques and procedures. Basic life support (BLS) certification required Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with a commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment, prioritizing tasks and adapting to changing patient needs.
