Dialysis Patient Care Technician
Our Patient Care Technicians provide high quality patient care to patients suffering from the most advanced stage of chronic kidney disease, known as END Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). As a PCT you will monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, initiating cannulation, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. Our Patient Care Technicians have a combination of technical skills and genuine passion needed to develop deep relationships with patients and improve their quality of life. National certification, HS diploma, or GED required. Previous patient care experience preferred.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required. May use greater than 4 years of dialysis experience in lieu of high school diploma if permitted by state regulations.
Completion of facility specific training program with demonstrated competency and skills.
Meets all applicable state/licensing requirements.
Experienced PCTs must have current certification from BONENT, NNCC, NNCO or, if applicable, other state-approved certification. PCTs without prior experience must be certified within 18 months of hire.
Previous experience in ESRD preferred.
Experienced PCT's must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. PCTs without prior experience must obtain BLS certification within 30 days of employment.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with clients and fellow employees.
