Responsibilities
Perform CNA duties as well as clerical duties under the direction of a registered nurse (RN) and the unit manager
Assist with patient care tasks such as obtaining vital signs, assists in transporting patients, pass meal trays, deliver hygiene care and answers inquiries within the scope of practice
Assist nursing staff by receiving patients at the desk, taking the patient to appropriate room, gives initial instruction; assist in transporting discharged patients and answer inquiries within the scope of practice
May act as the unit's receptionist, assign patient to room on board, alert nursing staff to patient arrival, pull and prepare chart; order and monitor utilization of selected supplies: office, nutritional supplements, forms and retrieval chart back; assist with stocking supplies that are needed in the unit as well as assist in keeping the nursing stations clean and organized.
Qualifications
Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Basic Life Support Certified
Preferred Job Requirements
Two (2) years of experience in acute or long-term care
Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school
Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy
