Responsible for rendering technical patient care and assistance to an assigned patient population under the supervision of a higher level health care professional at the UVA Outpatient Surgery Center.
Interacts with patients in an appropriate manner.
Adheres to basic sterile technique practices.
Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment for patients self and staff.
Recognizes the importance of time sensitive issues.
Supports operating room procedures.
Maintains patient positioning devices.
Demonstrates proper room cleaning/turnover.
Interfaces effectively with peers and customers and assumes responsibility for professional development of self and others per departmental policy.
Demonstrates leadership in the delivery of technical patient care.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Position Compensation Range: $12.86 - $19.93 Hourly
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent. Other: After hire successful completion of the 4 week PCT - OR training program is required for continued employment in the OR as a PCT.
Experience: No experience required.
Licensure: Valid Virginia Driver's License required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Job requires frequently bending/stooping and driving (Home Health Aide only). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 50lbs and > 100lbs (Home Health Aide only). May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
