Position: Patient Care Technician- Resource
Location: Glenbrook Hospital & Highland Park Hospital
Full Time/Part Time: Resource, as needed
Required Travel: Travel between Glenbrook Hospital and Highland Park Hospital is required
What you will need:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Certification: Good standing on the IDPH Nurse Aide Registry required; Certified Nursing Assistant Certification required or EMT/paramedic certification or proof of student nurse med/surg. Clinical rotation or current enrollment in a medical school is required
Experience: Prior PCT or CNA experience preferred
What you will do:
Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care
Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience
