The Patient Care Technician

  • Assists the licensed staff with basic patient care functions, which includes but is not limited to bathing, ambulating, toileting and feeding patients. In addition, picking up meal trays, taking vital signs

  • Assists nursing staff by performing bedside glucose checks, foley catheter care including discontinuation of foley, urine collection, tracheostomy care and simple dressing care

  • Responsible for performing the clerical tasks and receptionist duties to include: answering all phone calls and patient intercom calls, transcribing physician orders, assembling/maintaining charts for admitted patients, preparing charts for HIM department for discharged patients, and entering orders into the Meditech system

Qualifications

  • BLS, issued by the American Heart Association certification required

  • C.N.A. preferred

  • Completion of medical terminology course preferred

  • Previous patient care technician experience preferred

This opportunity will be working at our Arlington Hospital campus located at 800 W. Randol Mill Road in Arlington, TX 76012. The work schedule for this opportunity will be night shift, 6p (1800) to 6a (0600) and includes rotating weekends and holidays. The salary range for this opportunity is from 13.19 to a maximum of 19.83 based on relevant experience as listed on your resume. Skills Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills. Nursing Students who do not complete course of study in nursing but having completed their Fundamentals Training and EMTs who do not formally retain their EMT status may continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.
