Mid Shift: 11a-11p, Full time

Job Description:

To promote efficient and quality patient care to Baptist Health Paducah (BHP) Emergency Department (ED) patients, by collaborating with the ED nursing staff and ED providers while performing within the scope of practice. To contribute to the care of patients in the ED by collaborating with all team members to provide a safe environment for patients, visitors and associates.

Job Duties:

• Assist with direct patient care within scope of practice, including recording/reporting of patient vital signs, appropriate placement of monitoring equipment, phlebotomy, splint application, and obtaining 12 Lead ECG.

• Transporting of patients to/from diagnostic testing, admitting unit as appropriate and at discharge. Maintains stock within the department and specialty carts.

• Responds promptly to patient needs and requests for service/assistance.

• Attends required safety training programs and understands responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job-related hazards and national patient safety goals.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Recent experience in a health care setting providing patient care, Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, and previous phlebotomy/point of care testing preferred.

• Successful completion of hospital required PCT skills training and required competencies.
