The Nursing Supervisor coordinates the overall activities of patient care areas and hospital departments on the assigned shift. Provides resource assistance and guidance to nursing personnel regarding patient care, established policies, procedures and standards. Ascertains the need for, and makes adjustments to, the job assignments for nursing personnel ensuring that each assigned area has the resources necessary to maintain a safe patient care environment. The supervisor contacts the administrator on call for direction with critical problems or concerns.
Graduate of accredited BSN program, OR actively enrolled in an accredited BSN program.
Must have interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients of the following ages: pediatric (1-12 years); adolescent (13-17 years); adult (18-64 years); and geriatric (64 years and above); physicians, and other hospital personnel as needed to promote quality patient care.
Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Michigan
Minimum 3 years of current clinical experience
BLS and ACLS certified
Willingness to obtain BSN within 1-3 years after hire preferred.
