Work days/hours: This is a full-time benefits eligible role. Monday to Friday 9:00am-6:00pm.

  • First point of contact, greeting patients to welcome them into the center to provide a positive experience.

  • Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries and making outbound calls to patients.

  • Responsible for scheduling appointments and entering appointments into scheduler.

  • Organize and maintain patient charts, including generating chart numbers, filing, and retrieving charts.

  • Register patients by verifying patient's record is up-to-date and accurate.

  • Making appropriate changes in scheduling system and patient charts.

  • Verifying insurance information for surgical procedures.

  • Collecting and processing payments from patients and daily reconciliation of cash report.

  • Soliciting referrals from patients - creating excitement for sharing a positive experience for friends and family.

  • Organizing and maintaining patient charts.


  • Must be patient service focused with the ability to deliver high customer satisfaction.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills required, ability to develop relationship with patients to provide a positive experience.

  • Proficient with standard office equipment; multi-task comfortably; ability to work with a high degree of professionalism.

  • Experience with answering phones and multi-tasking.

  • Exemplary organizational skills; willingness to be cross-trained and fill in for other staff members.

This position has administrative authority and responsibility for patient care, and compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and other regulations. Reports directly to the hospital administrator and has indirect reporting relationship to the Shriners Hospital for Children System Chief Nursing Officer. Is responsible for establishing strategic vision and process improvements within assigned departments. Maintains effective communication and sound organizational relationships with all local and corporate stakeholders. Maintains awareness of legislation affecting all clinical practices and implements practice or process changes as needed. Strives for the advancement of the nursing profession within the community and on the local, state and national level. Job Responsibilities: ● Participates in the development, monitoring and execution of the hospital's strategic plan ● Identifies, develops and facilitates patient safety initiatives, quality improvement strategies, nursing and employee satisfaction initiatives ● Evaluates patient care service areas to ensure safe and effective patient care and staffing ● Workforce planning, employment decisions, employee recognition, performance management ● Makes frequent unit/department and patient rounds and gives appropriate feedback in a timely manner ● Assesses customer/staff satisfaction when rounding and facilitates appropriate chain of command for unresolved issues ● Oversight, allocation and administration of assigned departments' budgets ● Maintains patient and employee confidentiality Job Requirements: ● Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required ● Master's degree in Nursing, Business Management or related field is required ● RN license in the state of Oregon is required ● Nurse Executive Advanced-Board Certified (NEA-BC) preferred ● 5 years of experience in an acute care hospital setting is required ● 4 years of Nursing management experience is required, Director-level or above preferred ● Experience in pediatrics or orthopedics is preferred ● Strong customer service philosophy and excellent interpersonal and communication skills ● Knowledge of regulatory agency requirements (e.g., the Joint Commission) Company Overview: Shriners Hospitals for Children is committed to providing the highest quality care to children with neuromusculoskeletal conditions, burn injuries and other special healthcare needs within a compassionate, family-centered and collaborative care environment.
