This position will serve as a patient advocate for all Specialty Pharmacy patients. The Specialty Patient Care Coordinator will help the patient navigate through the complex journey which entails both clinical support and financial assistance. Specialty Pharmacy prescriptions require a level of care and attention above and beyond non-specialty prescriptions. These prescriptions are generally very expensive, may require special handling and have specific administration requirements. The Specialty Patient Care Coordinator will work with the patient, prescriber, payer and the Specialty Pharmacy team to ensure the patient receives their medication in a timely fashion and has all of the support required to achieve the desired therapeutic outcome.
Publix Specialty is a closed-door pharmacy located in Orlando delivering premier customer service. Publix Specialty Pharmacy provides services for disease states treated with high-touch/high-cost medications, including immunology, multiple sclerosis, and cancer, offering dedicated support. Our team works directly with prescribers and insurance providers to keep costs low, delivers medication right to our customers' door, and provides dedicated patient care support to help navigate treatment.

Required Qualifications
High School diploma or its equivalent
Registered with the State of Florida as a Pharmacy Technician
Knowledge of Pharmacy business practices and Pharmacy operations
Knowledge of pharmacy and healthcare laws, rules and operating policies and procedures (e.g., HIPAA)
ability and willingness to demonstrate eagerness, enthusiasm, optimism, and passion when working

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in a healthcare or business-related field
experience as a lead technician AND/OR 2 or more years' experience as a technician in a specialty pharmacy or other related healthcare call center environment OR 3 or more years' experience as a technician in a Publix pharmacy
Pharmacy Technician Certification
bilingual in Spanish
knowledge of practices and procedures commonly used in a call center or customer service environment
Knowledge of specialty pharmacy operations and accreditation standards (e.g., URAC)
intermediate skill level Microsoft Word
basic skill level in Microsoft Excel and Access
knowledge of clinical management system (e.g., Envoy)
