Patient Care Coordinator

We seek a full-time Patient Care Coordinator at our Knoxville, TN, location.
The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for greeting patients, checking them in, collecting payments, making and rescheduling appointments, answering phones, assisting clinical staff, uploading documents into the EHR, and providing patients with information about practices or policies.
Schedule: Monday
Thursday 8:00 am
6:00 pm and Friday 8:00 am
2:00 pm
Compensation: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Responsibility and Duties:
Answers inbound calls in a professional and courteous manner
Provides data entry functionality within our EHR system to include but not limited to entering/updating demographic information and uploading all relevant documents
Processes payments for co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, self-pay, and missed appointments fees
Conducts intake interviews for new patients as needed
Assist patients with completing new patient paperwork
Performs insurance verification duties
Ability to work at both Med Management and Therapy Buildings
Maintain inventory of supplies
Send text messages to patients regarding upcoming appointments and canceled/rescheduled appointments
Schedules appointments and follow-up appointments for individual sessions and group sessions
Secures patient information and maintains patient confidentiality by safeguarding medical records and keeping patient information confidential
Prepares patient for provider visit, ensuring that all proper vitals are taken, including temperature, height, weight, etc.
Schedule transfer clients
Schedule group sessions
Assists with special projects
Check voicemails for the intake department and assign appropriate Intake Coordinator follow-up responsibility
Skills and Knowledge:
Basic understanding of medical terminology
Competent and validated in basic Medical Assisting skills such as taking vital signs and preparing patients to be seen by providers
Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Possess written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical staff
Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies and procedures to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
Identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options
Build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives
