The Patient Care Coordinator will work under the direction of the Physician Services Market Manager / Physician Services Director to provide leadership to practice staff. This position is responsible for overseeing daily functions and tasks for a designated Physician Services medical practice. While not a supervisory role, this position is responsible for ensuring all required operations are completed efficiently and punctually while maintaining good financial stewardship.
Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information concerning the financial, personal, and medical or employment status of patients/families at JPMC.
Follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and hospital.
Report safety hazards and initiate appropriate action.
Participate in safety instructional programs.
Handle variety of matters involving contact with various staff, providers and the public.
Attend and participate in meetings as assigned.
Prepare various documents and handles confidential matters in accordance with Physician Services rules and procedures.
Order supplies as needed for medical practices.
Facilitate morning huddle meetings and document accordingly
Facilitate regular office meetings and document accordingly
Serve as the point of contact for the medical practice; respond quickly and appropriately to inquiries from internal and external customers.
Facilitate all initiatives and directives assigned.
Ensure all office tasks are performed in a timely manner to limit barriers to patient care (front desk, clinical, authorizations, scheduling, etc.)
Ensure all surgeries, procedures, and tests are pre-certed and scheduled with patients and various hospital departments focusing on accuracy and timeliness. Monitor progress of Central Scheduler when applicable, offering expertise and guidance to ensure all tasks are completed as efficiently as possible.
Assist with staffing needs by working in other roles, when appropriate.
Monitor and ensure all administrative and reporting tasks are complete for practice staff.
Maintain a focus on timeliness and quality of service in every facet of practice operations; remove barriers to patient and care and ensure timely delivery of customer service.
Performs other duties as assigned.
High School diploma or GED required, technical training preferred. Previous experience in a medical office preferred. KY State Licensed Practicing Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant preferred but not required. Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association preferred.
Basic required skills required include but are not limited to; organizational, customer relations, math, grammar/spelling, typing, the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, follow written and oral direction, and computer training.
