Job Description Summary

Handle customer service inquiries from members, providers, physicians and internal and external clients related to pharmacy benefits. Work to research and resolve problems in a timely manner. Assist members in understanding and maximizing the use of their pharmacy distribution program. Use computerized system to gather information and respond to questions. Document issues and resolutions in a common database. Escalate issues as necessary.

  • Handle inbound and outbound member, provider and physician calls. Answer questions related to pharmacy benefits, while maintaining productivity standards and performance guarantees where applicable.
  • Work with other operational departments to research and resolve mail order and claims issues and respond to members within performance agreement guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all inquiries in order to continuously improve the customer service process and reduce potential legal concerns.
  • Identify and escalate in a prudent manner, concerns received from patients and/or clients so that corrective action can be pursued and expedited to take care of their needs.
  • Responsible for good housekeeping techniques, adhering to quality and production standards while complying with all applicable company, state and federal safety
  • Other duties as needed.
  • Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1 year of relevant experience
  • General PC knowledge including Microsoft Office and Internet
  • Excellent verbal presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to handle challenging customers in a professional manner
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment
  • Learns quickly, solve problems and make decisions
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule for peak call times

Answer any questions/concerns and exhaust all internal efforts to collect on self-pay and insurance residual accounts. MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Receive inbound and makes outbound calls to patients/guarantors on account balances. Advise of remaining account balance(s) and answer any questions. Identify concerns/objections and determine best course of action. Negotiate for payment in full or maximum payment arrangements according to policy. Screen patient/guarantors for insurance, billing or financial aid opportunities. Inbound calls received from ACD based on first available representative. Outbound telephone calls may be completed from predictive dialer or manual call. Respond to patients/guarantors requests and thank them for using OhioHealth services. Update patient demographic data and establish rapport with patients/guarantors. Accurately document account, make adjustments or referrals as appropriate. Make recommendation for manual charge off based on defined criteria. Maintain quality and productivity requirements. Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School Graduate or GED Familiarity with computer systems. Data entry skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiations skills. Ability to quickly build rapport with patients. Proven organizational skills. Familiarity with Fair Debt Collections Practices. Minimum two years customer service or collections experience with six months experience in a call center environment. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Spanish or Somali Ability to influence and convince others while maintaining goodwill. Comfortable with change and stressful situations. Remains calm at all times. Committed to work toward goals. Shows enthusiasm and commitment.
