About the Position: Kimbrough is the headquarters of the U.S. Army Medical Department Activity (MEDDAC), Fort George G. Meade, includes a number of U.S. Army health clinics, occupational health clinics, telemedicine, behavioral health, allergen extract lab, drug testing labs, and environmental health clinics at several installations in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, & District of Columbia. Kimbrough provides primary care, selected specialty care & same day surgery for TRICARE Prime patients.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) experience screening phone calls and visitors; (2) utilizing office automation to produce various documents and/or reports; and (3) experience enrolling patient for service and/or verifying patient eligibility. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).


Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.


Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.

The Administrative Assistant position performs a variety of administrative duties providing mission support in one or more functions or business areas within the customer directorates. The nature of Administrative Assistant work varies from transactional in nature and requires general knowledge of basic administrative processes to moderately complex and very complex tasks which demands a high degree of autonomy and latitude in planning; organizing; and decision making to fulfill work requirements. Compiles and analyzes various contract, program, and financial data using various database programs, and prepares monthly status reports based on the results. 3. Collects and inputs timesheet information into automated accounting system and processes labor corrections. 4. Processes purchasing requisitions, invoices for consultants and subcontractors, and travel and expense reports. 5. Serves as point of contact for the office or group on issues related to accounting, human resources, purchasing, and other departments, as well as external contacts such as customers, vendors, and subcontractors. 6. Education: Associates Degree in a related business discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
